Issue 353 consists of two discs, offering up an array of current chart-toppers, high-energy dance hits and classic favourites, as well as exclusive mash-ups and mixes – perfect for mobile DJs playing to crowds of all ages and tastes at a range of venues and events…
Offering up the hottest current chart-toppers, disc one opens with the Chart Breakers section. Chris Brown’s sleek, disco-tinged ‘Zero’ starts proceedings, before 5 Seconds Of Summer chime in with their snarled lyrics and punk guitars on the mischievous but hook-filled ‘Hey Everybody!’. Seguing neatly into something totally different, this opening section turns to the house beats of ‘Turn the Music Louder (Rumble)’ by producer KDA, which features Tinie Tempah and the power-house vocals of Katy B. Bringing club-ready summer vibes to the dance-floor this winter, OMI’s ‘Hula Hoop’ exudes the exotic flavours of marimbas, trumpets and Caribbean beats, before the section comes to a close with a well-paired and equally as exotic dance track – Alex Adair’s ‘Heaven’.
Section two – Essential Dance – opens with the unique sound of Foxes, as Steve Smart turns her epic song ‘Better Love’ into pulsing and atmospheric dance track. Next up, The Shapeshifters treat us to their rethinking of Cee Lo Green’s ‘Music To My Soul’, underpinning his powerful voice with feel-good piano riffs and a driving beat, before a club mix of Sam Feldt feat. The Him’s ‘Drive You Home’ takes over. Irresistibly catchy, Little Mix’s ‘Love Me Like You’ is taken to exciting new heights in a Bimbo Jones remix, turning this pop gem into a shuffling garage-inflected floor-filler, and, closing the section, a remix of Diplo & Sleepy Tom’s ‘Be Right There’ offers up some serious bassline vibes!
What’s a party without disco? Section three offers up a series of classic Sexy Disco cuts, from Hot Chocolate to Chaka Khan to Michael Jackson. Kicking things off, Hot Chocolate treat us to a cheeky double, as the distorted guitars and addictive beat of ‘Every 1’s A Winner’ transform into the group’s signature track, ‘You Sexy Thing’. Rose Royce’s ‘Car Wash’ brings the funk, with thumping basslines and feel-good guitar, Chaka Khan’s ‘I’m Every Woman’ sounds as good as ever, nicely mixed with ‘Rock The Boat’ by Hues Corporation. Finishing the section, two classics intermingle for a floor-filling finale, with ‘Ain’t No Stoppin’ Us Now’ and MJ’s ‘Rock With You’ delivering the goods.
Urban Shakedown, section four, features hip hop legends and R&B newcomers, as laid-back beats and cut-glass lyrics become the order of the day! The ominous, guitar-inflected sound of ‘No Church In The Wild’ is the ideal canvas for Jay-Z and Kayne to paint their verses on, while Frank Ocean delivers a soulful vocal performance. This leads nicely into Chris Brown and X Tyga’s club banger ‘Ayo’ and Usher feat. Lil’ Jon & Ludacris’ classic hit ‘Yeah’. Finishing the section, Drake and Majid Jordan offer up the silky smooth ‘Hold On, We’re Going Home’ and The Weeknd’s ‘Can’t Feel My Face’ showcases heavy, funky basslines and catchy pop hooks.
Closing disc one, the Mastermix team provides a unique mash-up of Wiz Khalifa vs Arctic Monkeys, as the dark, guitar-driven paranoia of ‘Do I Wanna Know?’ fuses with the tender tribute song ‘See You Again’ for something that’s bound to blow audiences away!

Kylie Minogue, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Icona Pop and Maroon 5, as well as party staples like David Guetta’s ‘When Love Takes Over’, ‘Party Rock Anthem’ by LMFAO and PSY’s ‘Gangnam Style’. Moving quickly but seamlessly between 14 upbeat tracks, this opening section is sure to bring the house down every time.
The second section of disc two is ideal for events at student unions; The Student Party: Indie Classics features all the classic guitar tracks, opening with the Stone Roses’ laid-back grooves on ‘Fools Gold’, the mix moves through the Happy Monday’s dance-influenced ‘Step On’ to the likes of Reef’s ‘Place Your Hands’ and ‘Come Home’ by Manchester baggy band James. If there are any guitar fans in the building – this section is destined to please them all.
Everyone loves a bit of retro pop and in section three – Triple Tracker: Pop Party – we get a mix of three sweet-sounding pop songs, all offering up classic 50s vibes that guaranteed to get the dance-floor filled up! Charlie Puth and Meghan Trainor’s ‘Marvin Gaye’ showcases tinkering keys and smooth vocals, moving into Sean Kingston’s reggae-doo-wop hit ‘Beautiful Girls’ before Trainor’s chart-topper ‘All About That Bass’ really gets guests grooving!
