ADJ has now released the latest addition to its popular Inno series, the Inno Pocket Z4, providing mobile DJs with a compact but high-powered fixture that offers a variable beam angle and the ability to create effects in a range of colours.
Joining the popular Spot, Wash, Scan and Roll products as part of the Inno Pocket range, the compact Inno Pocket Z4 is equipped with four 10W RGBW LEDs and a variable 10-60⁰ beam angle, letting mobile DJs create both sharp beam effects and wider washes from one unit. This flexibility makes the new mini moving head well-suited to washing the dance-floor in colour or creating over-head beam effects that add energy to the party.
Facilitated by a full zoom feature, the Z4 boasts a variable beam angle, as well as offering 540⁰ pan and 180⁰ tilt movement, providing users with increased scope for creating a room-filling display using the fixture’s beam or wash effects. Furthermore, using the unit’s pan/tilt inversion mode, this movement can be reversed to generate a synchronised mirrored lighting display that runs through four in-built lightshows when multiple Pocket Z4s are linked together in master/slave configuration.
As well as these built-in programs, mobile DJs can also trigger fast-slow strobing to add intensity to their event, controlling the brightness of the strobing and the Z4’s beam effects using 0-100% dimming. ADJ has also ensured that users have zone control over the fixture’s LEDs, letting them create eye candy for the dance-floor by mapping each LED for different colour combinations.
“Our Inno Pocket range of compact but powerful lighting effects is one that’s always expanding,” says Alfred Gonzales, National Sales Manager for ADJ USA. “Thanks to its variable beam angle and powerful quad-colour source, the brand new Inno Pocket Z4 lives up to the reputation of its sister models, providing users with fast-moving beams and beautiful washes from one compact fixture, whether they’re an event organiser, venue manager, mobile DJ, church, rental company or the owner of a roller rink.”
In terms of control, the Inno Pocket Z4 can be operated in three primary modes: Sound Active, Show and DMX-Controlled, the latter of which gives users access to 16-, 19- and 22-channel settings, offering in-depth control and more creative freedom. In the 16-channel DMX mode, users have access to master dimming and individual colour dimming, as well as being able to adjust zoom, trigger and adjust strobe effects, and control standard and fine pan and tilt movement. The 19-channel mode adds colour macro selection, access to colour change/fade speed settings, and dimmer curve selection, while the 22-channel mode takes things further with pan/tilt macro selection and the ability to change the macro speed and pan/tilt movement speed.
ADJ’s separately sold UC IR wireless remote is also compatible with the Inno Pocket Z4, offering control over a range of the unit’s features from up to nine metres. The fixture can also be used in conjunction with the new ADJ Airstream IR App for iOS devices, which lets mobile DJs control basic features from their iPad or iPhone. So, mobile DJs can easily control the Z4 from behind the booth or from the back of the venue using either wireless solution.
Despite its adaptability and range of features, the Inno Pocket Z4 remains lightweight and compact, weighing 3.2kg and measuring 141 x 174 x 247mm, making it well-suited to use by mobile DJs looking to take a compact lightshow on the road with them.
The Inno Pocket Z4 is available now from ADJ.
