An upgrade of the popular Fusion Spot, Equinox has released its new Fusion Spot Max, offering mobile DJs a compact, affordable moving head that brings powerful beams and colour GOBO patterns to the dance-floor.
The new Equinox Fusion Spot MAX – available from Prolight Concepts – is a portable, cost-effective moving head boasting a brighter 30W white LED source and a tight 13° beam angle, enabling users to produce tight beams of light.
This beam effect is then enhanced by the Equinox Fusion Spot MAX’s separate colour and GOBO wheels. Offering mobile DJs seven colours (plus open), the colour wheel lets them generate moving beams in a series of vibrant hues. Meanwhile, the seven static, laser-cut GOBOs allow eye-catching patterns including circles, spirals and criss-cross shapes to be sent down onto the dance-floor or stage.
Ensuring a lightshow that not only boasts colour and brightness, but flexible movement too, Equinox has equipped the Fusion Spot MAX with dynamic 540° pan and 270° tilt movement, allowing for room-filling displays. Thanks to 0-100% dimming, users can easily control the brightness of these shows, depending on the needs of their clients and guests, while a variable strobe means mobile DJs can add intensity when required.
The Fusion Spot MAX can also be linked with Equinox’s Fusion Scan and Fusion Roller effects, allowing mobile DJs to create lightshows with synchronised GOBO patterns and movements at the events and venues they work.
“The Fusion series have proved a massive success, especially for DJs and entertainers,” said Bernie Marsh, General Manager for the Prolight Concepts Group. “The new 30W LED engine adds an extra punch to the Fusion Spot moving head with virtually no price increase. Look out for more fixtures getting the 'MAX' treatment over the next few months.”
In terms of control, Equinox gives users access to auto, sound active and master/slave modes, allowing for simple but effective built-in lightshows to be generated and spread across multiple units. Alternatively, DJs can utilise the creativity offered by DMX control, thanks to the Fusion Spot MAX’s DMX mode, which offers 1-, 8- and 10-channel settings.
Weighing in at a modest 2.85kg and with compact measurements (275 x 165 x 145mm), the new Equinx Fusion Spot MAX can be easily incorporated into any mobile setup, providing users with a portable but effective moving head. The fixture also comes with a hanging bracket supplied, letting users mount the unit above the dance-floor for attention-grabbing mid-air effects.
The Equinox Fusion Spot MAX is available now from Prolight Concepts at an SSP of £185.
