Pioneer DJ Enters The World Of Lighting Control
Following the release of rekordbox ver 5.1 today (18th January 2018), Pioneer DJ has announced that the next version of its music management application, rekordbox, will be available on the 20th of February 2018. This updated software will bring new features to rekordbox dj including Lighting mode, which enables DJs to easily sync lights with their music during a performance.

Using the advanced phrase analysis algorithm in rekordbox (ver 5.1 or later), Lighting mode automatically creates exciting lighting sequences in sync with the tracks in the rekordbox library, drastically reducing pre-performance preparation time. The information generated in Lighting mode can be sent to any lighting fixture that supports DMX512 via the RB-DMX1, a new dedicated DMX interface.

The combination of recordbox dj’s Lighting mode and the RB-DMX1 interface allows automatic creation of lighting patterns synchronized accurately to the music. The software also allows for Macro Mapping, to allow custom lighting patterns to be easily created using an in-built Macro Editor. The RB-DMX1 will be available from mid-February 2018 at an SRP of £359 including VAT and comes with a bundled licence key for rekordbox dj.

With today’s release of rekordbox version 5.1, Pioneer DJ has also announced a new Plus Pack, rekordbox lyric, for displaying animated lyric visualisations when using rekordbox dj. rekordbox lyric is designed to offer a brand-new form of creative expression. Its lyric visualisation feature, co-developed with COTODAMA, enables DJs to display visualisations of track lyrics on the fly via monitors or projectors. Animations are created automatically by the software and can be easily customised.

rekordbox lyric is available now and is a subscription service available either standalone as the Lyric Plan (€7.90 including VAT per month) or as part of Pioneer DJ’s Premium Plan (€15.90 including VAT per month) which also includes unlimited access to all the features and functions of rekordbox dj, rekordbox dvs, rekordbox video and RMX Effects.
