The new Dotz Par 100 from ADJ is a compact par fixture that harnesses the power of multiple units thanks to its 100W tri-colour (RGB) COB LED source, allowing mobile DJs to create even brighter colour wash effects.
Equipped with COB (Chip on Board) technology, ADJ has ensured that the Dotz Par 100 lets mobile DJs create riches palettes of smoothly mixed colour, so they can avoid RGB shadows and achieve a professional finish. This COB technology is also what enables the powerful LED engine to be housed in a smaller amount of space, as to offer portability without forsaking power.
As well as its COB LED source, the Dotz Par 100 offers an 80⁰ beam angle (which can be reduced to 25⁰ using a supplied lens kit), giving mobile DJs the option to create either widespread washes or sleek uplighting effects, with which to light dance-floors, stages, functions rooms and bars. With access to 32 built-in colour macros and a range of preset programs, these displays, in whichever form they take, can also be created quickly and easily, for a professional finish.
Adding to its features, ADJ has also ensured that fixture has pixel-mapping capabilities, giving users the creative potential to produce animated visuals. On top of this, LED pulse and strobe effects allow mobile DJs to add an extra dimension to their lightshow by upping the intensity as and when they need to.
In terms of control, users have access to Sound Active mode, Auto Run mode (which runs through the various in-built programs), Colour Macro mode and Dimmer mode, as well as a flexible DMX-controlled setting with four channel modes (3, 4, 5 and 9). In addition, the ADJ Par RF wireless remote control can be used to control basic features from a distance of up to 25m, so mobile DJs can easily operate the Dotz Par 100 from the booth, stage or the back of a venue.
“Game-changing advancements in COB technology have enabled us to pack the Dotz Par 100’s powerful 100W source into a compact unit, giving our customers the ability to create immense washes of colour from a conveniently portable fixture,” said Alfred Gonzales, National Sales Manager for ADJ USA. “The added bonus is that these tri-colour COB LEDs also allow for incredibly smooth colour mixing, so users can make distinct hues that take their lightshow to the next level. With pixel-mapping capabilities and an included lens kit too, the creative possibilities really are endless…”
Affording users added flexibility, ADJ has used a ‘lie-flat’ design for the Dotz Par 100, with its power and DMX in/out connections fitted on the side of the unit. This allows mobile DJs to set the fixture flat on the ground (for uplighting) or set it inside truss (for truss warming applications). Alternatively, the dual yoke means the unit can be mounted or set on the ground at an angle, for far-reaching overhead washes or angled uplighting.
For mobile DJs looking to operate multiple Dotz Par 100 fixtures in DMX mode, numerous units can be easily DMX-linked as part of a more extensive mobile rig. In addition, users can daisy-chain the power supply for multiple units, enabling them to run up to 19 units at 230V. This is especially well suited to DJs that want to provide uplighting for an entire room or venue but don’t want the hassle of extensive wiring.
The Dotz Par 100 is also lightweight and compact, weighing just 3.1kg, making it ideal for taking on the road as part of a portable but powerful setup.
The ADJ Dotz Par 100 will be available in Europe from late June 2015.
