Allen & Heath Expands Zedi Range with New Models
Following the launch of its ZEDi-8 hybrid mixer/interface, Allen & Heath has now released the ZEDi-10 and ZEDi-10FX models as part of its acclaimed ZED series of analogue consoles, offering mobile DJs two compact, portable mixers that are ideal for wedding ceremonies and speeches.

The new six-channel ZEDi-10 and Zedi-10FX units are designed with mobile users in mind, being ideal for mixing audio at wedding ceremonies, family parties and other events where speeches and announcements are made thanks to their range of features. Housed in moulded chassis and with metal front panels, the mixers are robust enough for life on the road, and also feature 3-band EQ, 60mm smooth-travel master mix faders, FX/aux/monitor and headphone outputs, channel monitoring and 48V phantom power.

“The new ZEDi models are the perfect choice for musicians and venues looking for a quality, small format mixer that can deliver the goods for both live performance and multitrack recording,” explained Harry Garcia, Product Specialist for Allen & Heath. “With their high quality USB interface, handy guitar DIs, great sounding mic pres, and the ZEDi-10FX’s exceptional FX library, they have all the tools required.”

Both of the new models feature four mono channels (with separate XLR and TRS jack sockets), one stereo channel and a second stereo input for reverb returns or playback. Meanwhile, for mobile DJs working with party bands and other entertainers, the mono channels include DI high-impedance circuitry for the jack sockets, allowing guitars to be plugged straight into the mixer without the need for separate DI boxes. The Zedi-10 and Zedi-10FX also provide high-quality sound due to their new GSPre preamp designs, developed from the GS-R24 professional studio console to provide low noise and more headroom.

By combining a compact mixer with a 24bit 96kHz 4x4 USB interface, the new Zedi models are also capable of multitrack recording and playback to Mac or PC, for when mobile DJs want to record performances, wedding ceremonies and speeches for their clients and guests as an upsell. Both the Zedi-10 and Zedi-10FX are also bundled with Cubase LE music production software and the Cubasis LE mobile app.

Exclusive to the Zedi-10FX model, users also have access to an FX system – designed in-house – which encompasses multi-FX models. So, mobile DJs can easily combine reverbs, delays, chorus and other effects to change the sound for individual microphone users during speeches and performances.

The new Zedi-10 and Zedi-10FX mixers are available now from Allen & Heath.
